Being Thankful

If you're like me, you may spend far too much time trying to fix your perceived imperfections rather than being truly grateful for what is right in your life. I realize that to attract good things into my life I need to be better about stating what is already good.  God tells us that if we ask, that we receive.  However, He also tells us that we are to praise Him in thanksgiving.  So today I'm listing five things that I'm thankful for.

  1. I have freedom of expression.
  2. I am blessed with a well spring of creativity.
  3. God blessed my husband with a new job since the factory he loved is closing.
  4. The cattle here on the farm are doing well.
  5. I had a nice crispy salad for lunch today.

What are you thankful for today?  Will you share it with us?  Lets spread some positivity.

Thanks for reading.

Is your bombarding diet of media affecting your attitude?

I have found over the years, that reading material that is positive and thought provoking has a very positive effect on our attitude. It is certainly more beneficial than reading or listening to some tragedy.

~ Bob Proctor

I happen to agree wholeheartedly with the above sentiment.

My reading and viewing habits have changed over the years.  I used to love to read horror novels, go to horror movies and have a 24 hour news channel on all the time. I was feeding my brain a constant stream of negativity.  It's no wonder I walked around sad, depressed and not liking myself.

In recent years, I've gravitated toward self-help and spiritual books.  I've turned off the 24 hour news channel. No longer do I go to horror movies.  I've let that go.  Without realizing it, I began feeling and acting more positively.

Now, don't misunderstand.  I don't pretend that the world is an utopian place.  I keep up on the current events of the day, and Lord knows, a lot of it is negative.  I hear the news and then I leave it alone.  I don't listen to the breaking news alert every five minutes.  It's upsetting to me to hear all the "experts" arguing over the hot topics of the day.  I say a prayer and let it go.

Everyday, I've made it a habit to end my day with some positive reading.  I love authors like Louise L Hay, Doreen Virtue and Marianne Williamson.   I'm planting seeds of positive thoughts in my mind before I lay down to rest.  I don't have the newsy stuff of the day playing over and over in my head.

Let's face it.  There are so many things we have no control over.  I believe that living life as a good example to others by spreading positivity is one of the best things I can do to help my community.  I don't absorb the negativity anymore, so therefore, I don't pass it along.

What do you think of Bob Proctor's quote?  Does it ring true for you?  Is your bombarding diet of media affecting your attitude?

Thanks for reading.

Positive Thoughts Net Positive Results

Your mind is like a computer; what you put into it is what will come out in your thoughts, and your thinking process reflects your perspective on life.

How about the Mayo Clinic?

Excerpted From Mayo Clinic -

Understanding positive thinking and self-talk

Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.

Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head every day. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information.

If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life is more likely pessimistic. If your thoughts are mostly positive, you're likely an optimist — someone who practices positive thinking.

 Simply put ...

If you change your thinking, you can change your life.

Keep This Thought In Mind ... The Universe Is Listening

Every thought I think is a snapshot sent to the Universe asking for more of the same. And the Uni, ever on duty, says, “I’ll get right on it, boss.”  ~ Karen Money Williams

I found that quote very serendipitous as I sit here sipping coffee from a mug that says, "Big Boss" on the side.  It brought a smile to my face.

Today I've spent the morning looking at custom labels and packaging for my handcrafting business.  Earlier in the week I applied for a trademark. I'm stepping out in faith.  I have a vision of an elegant brand and things are beginning to fall into place.

I've sent those rockets of desire out to the universe.  It's on it.

My Beautiful Spirit Deserves To Live In A Healthy Body

Isn't that a wonderful downstream thought?

I've been doing a guided meditation, "Into The Vortex" from Abraham - Hicks since Monday.  It is simply wonderful.

As I've meditated on my health, I've realized that I need to allow better health into my body.  I've realized that "who I really am" is really my beautiful spirit.  If I believe that there is life after death, which I do, then my body is just a temporary home for my spirit.

My body does not define me.

That thought, and believing it, is such a light bulb moment for me.  I've actually felt a huge feeling of relief over the past couple of days.

You see, I am both diabetic and Reubenesque.  I have let that define me over the past three plus years.  And you know what?  I've gained weight and I let the diabetes have a mind of its own.  I've felt betrayed by my body.  I've felt grief because I've gone through a toe amputation.  I've felt deep depression.  I've blamed myself over and over again.

So realizing that my body does not define me made me feel lighter in an instant.  When something inside me realized that "who I really am" is a beautiful spirit it made such a profound change in my thinking.  I truly believe I reached the Vortex during the meditation and communicated with my source, which is God to me.

I know that seems so simple and it is.  I needed to break the negativity I felt toward myself.

I hope that I've explained it well enough.  It's very refreshing to hear myself saying several times a day ...

My beautiful spirit deserves to live in a healthy body.
