Today's Word From Joel And Victoria Osteen - Breaking Strongholds

Breaking Strongholds
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”
(2 Corinthians 10:4, NKJV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Scripture tells us that there is a battle going on in our minds. Our thoughts dictate our actions. That’s why the enemy will do everything he can to get you thinking in the wrong direction. Sometimes, it’s not our own thoughts that are holding us back; sometimes it’s that we’ve believed the negative things that other people have spoken over us. Those words are like seeds. If you dwell on them long enough, they’ll take root and become a reality.
In life, there will always be people telling you what cannot be done, speaking negative things. Too often we latch on to those negative words and develop what the scripture calls a “stronghold.” That’s a wrong thought or action that keeps us from God’s best. The way you break those negative strongholds is by rejecting the lie, forgiving the person, and embracing the truth of God’s Word. In other words, you have to choose to delete that negative file in your mind.
Today, why don’t you take inventory of your thought life? Ask yourself, “Where did these thoughts come from? Do they line up with what God says about me?” Break the negative strongholds and embrace God’s truth so you can be all that God has called you to be!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, today I choose to reject negative thoughts. I choose to reject lies from the past. I break every stronghold through the power of Your Word and embrace Your truth which sets me free in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Closer Thank You Think - Today's Word From Joel And Victoria Osteen

Closer Than You Think
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”
(Hebrews 10:35, NKJV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Have you been praying and believing for something that’s taking longer than you thought? Many times, people can miss God’s best simply because they give up before they see their answer come. Don’t let that be you! Be encouraged today, your answer is closer than you think. If it seems like things are getting more difficult, remember, when the intensity heats up, that means you are closer to your victory. It always seems darkest just before the dawn appears.
Friend, remember, you serve a faithful God. Know that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Don’t cast away your confidence today because your reward is coming. And just like a new mother forgets about her labor pain when she is finally holding her newborn, you’ll forget about your struggle when you are holding your promise.
While you are waiting, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Wake up every morning and declare, ≴I’ve come too far to give up now. My due season is coming. I will reap my harvest.” Stay in faith and be on the lookout because He has promised you victory, and it’s closer than you think!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I stand believing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Give me Your strength to continue believing until I see Your promises fulfilled in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reprogram Your Mind - Today's Word From Joel Osteen

Reprogram Your Mind
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind...”
(Romans 12:2, AMP)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction. They’ve programmed their minds to worry. They’ve programmed their minds to complain. They’ve programmed their minds to see the negative. But just as we can train our mind to focus on the negative, we can also reprogram our minds to focus on the positive. It all depends on what you meditate on.
When we meditate on the Word of God, we reprogram our minds. When we meditate on God’s goodness, we are developing a right mindset. When we choose to be grateful and focus on what’s right rather than what’s wrong, we are choosing a positive attitude. This doesn’t happen automatically; you have to discipline yourself to focus on the right things. You have to make a conscious effort to spend time in the Word of God every single day until a habit is formed.
I believe that as you honor God with your time, He’ll multiply it back to you. As you stay faithful and focused on Him, He will direct your steps, and you will embrace the blessing and victory He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I surrender my thoughts and mind to You. Help me retrain my thoughts so that they are in line with Your will for my life. I choose to have a positive attitude of faith and expectancy and thank You for empowering me to enjoy the good life You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Being Thankful

If you're like me, you may spend far too much time trying to fix your perceived imperfections rather than being truly grateful for what is right in your life. I realize that to attract good things into my life I need to be better about stating what is already good.  God tells us that if we ask, that we receive.  However, He also tells us that we are to praise Him in thanksgiving.  So today I'm listing five things that I'm thankful for.

  1. I have freedom of expression.
  2. I am blessed with a well spring of creativity.
  3. God blessed my husband with a new job since the factory he loved is closing.
  4. The cattle here on the farm are doing well.
  5. I had a nice crispy salad for lunch today.

What are you thankful for today?  Will you share it with us?  Lets spread some positivity.

Thanks for reading.

Is your bombarding diet of media affecting your attitude?

I have found over the years, that reading material that is positive and thought provoking has a very positive effect on our attitude. It is certainly more beneficial than reading or listening to some tragedy.

~ Bob Proctor

I happen to agree wholeheartedly with the above sentiment.

My reading and viewing habits have changed over the years.  I used to love to read horror novels, go to horror movies and have a 24 hour news channel on all the time. I was feeding my brain a constant stream of negativity.  It's no wonder I walked around sad, depressed and not liking myself.

In recent years, I've gravitated toward self-help and spiritual books.  I've turned off the 24 hour news channel. No longer do I go to horror movies.  I've let that go.  Without realizing it, I began feeling and acting more positively.

Now, don't misunderstand.  I don't pretend that the world is an utopian place.  I keep up on the current events of the day, and Lord knows, a lot of it is negative.  I hear the news and then I leave it alone.  I don't listen to the breaking news alert every five minutes.  It's upsetting to me to hear all the "experts" arguing over the hot topics of the day.  I say a prayer and let it go.

Everyday, I've made it a habit to end my day with some positive reading.  I love authors like Louise L Hay, Doreen Virtue and Marianne Williamson.   I'm planting seeds of positive thoughts in my mind before I lay down to rest.  I don't have the newsy stuff of the day playing over and over in my head.

Let's face it.  There are so many things we have no control over.  I believe that living life as a good example to others by spreading positivity is one of the best things I can do to help my community.  I don't absorb the negativity anymore, so therefore, I don't pass it along.

What do you think of Bob Proctor's quote?  Does it ring true for you?  Is your bombarding diet of media affecting your attitude?

Thanks for reading.

Staying Positive With A Fiscal Cliff Looming

Today, I was wondering who coined this term “fiscal cliff”. I wondered if it was an off the cuff comment from one of the talking heads out there that the media ran with. I found that this term has been thrown around for decades by Republicans and Democrats alike when they have had budget disagreements. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is the main figure credited with its bandying about this time around.

Is it truly a time to panic?

No, I don't think so. It's nothing I can control except for when I vote and I will be watching what my state leaders do. Other than that, I just have to go with the flow. What else can a person do?

Much of what affects us is really based on our reactions and perceptions. Personally, I've given up being a news junkie. It's all negativity, and if it's not, the media will find a negative spin because that keeps us watching. I don't like it.

I live by the rules of my personal economy. Stay within my means. The “bad economy” has stepped on my husband and I. His factory job will be gone by the end of 2013. That's a fact we have to deal with. However, our perception is that when God closes one door another will open. It's always been that way for us. We have the mind set that all works out for our greater good and it does.

Politicians kind of remind me of professional wrestlers from back in the day when we thought it was fake but didn't know for sure. I wonder if the politicians are good ol' buddies behind the scenes down in the deep dark secret caverns of the Capitol. Are they smoking cigars and slapping each other on the back as they plan the next drama to thrust them into some media time? I wonder if it's kind of like how the professional wrestlers choreograph their jumps off the top rope. Stranger things could happen.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think we need to take all of this fiscal cliff talk with a grain of salt. We have to stay positive. We have to live the lives we've been blessed with. After all, many of these same politicians and media people said we would be paying $5 a gallon for gas right now and that didn't happen.

Stay in your flow. Don't fight the current. Just be and breathe.

We're a resilient nation and we'll be ok, fiscal cliff or not. And remember, by definition a fiscal cliff has always been used as a threat in budget disagreements. It's something to keep in mind.

Thanks for reading.

My Financial House Is In Order And The Door To My Prosperity Is Open

This is my personal affirmation for today because I've spent the morning paying bills and more importantly filing away receipts for both my husband's farming operation and my crafting website.  It felt good to tame that stack of paper piling up on my desk.

I drew in a big breath and then I breathed it out.  I declared myself free of financial clutter.

It's amazing how a little organization relieves stress.

Now, repeat with me ...

My Financial House Is In Order And The Door To My Prosperity Is Open

Be blessed and thanks for reading.

Positive Thoughts Net Positive Results

Your mind is like a computer; what you put into it is what will come out in your thoughts, and your thinking process reflects your perspective on life.

Don't believe me?

How about the Mayo Clinic?

Excerpted From Mayo Clinic -

Understanding positive thinking and self-talk

Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.

Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head every day. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information.

If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life is more likely pessimistic. If your thoughts are mostly positive, you're likely an optimist — someone who practices positive thinking.

 Simply put ...

If you change your thinking, you can change your life.

Daily Law Of Attraction Quote ...

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance”
~Oscar Wilde
I don't think a lot of people realize how important this is.  I know I didn't for a long time.  In fact, I hated myself for many years because I felt I failed at everything I touched.  Do you know that feeling?  It's not a pleasant one, is it?
As I've learned about the Law Of Attraction, I've come to realize that if you love yourself and think positive things about yourself, then you will be setting your vibration in the universe to attract those same qualities in another.
In other words, if you want to be happy in relationships, be happy with yourself first.
I think Oscar Wilde had it right.

Keep This Thought In Mind ... The Universe Is Listening

Every thought I think is a snapshot sent to the Universe asking for more of the same. And the Uni, ever on duty, says, “I’ll get right on it, boss.”  ~ Karen Money Williams

I found that quote very serendipitous as I sit here sipping coffee from a mug that says, "Big Boss" on the side.  It brought a smile to my face.

Today I've spent the morning looking at custom labels and packaging for my handcrafting business.  Earlier in the week I applied for a trademark. I'm stepping out in faith.  I have a vision of an elegant brand and things are beginning to fall into place.

I've sent those rockets of desire out to the universe.  It's on it.

My Beautiful Spirit Deserves To Live In A Healthy Body

Isn't that a wonderful downstream thought?

I've been doing a guided meditation, "Into The Vortex" from Abraham - Hicks since Monday.  It is simply wonderful.

As I've meditated on my health, I've realized that I need to allow better health into my body.  I've realized that "who I really am" is really my beautiful spirit.  If I believe that there is life after death, which I do, then my body is just a temporary home for my spirit.

My body does not define me.

That thought, and believing it, is such a light bulb moment for me.  I've actually felt a huge feeling of relief over the past couple of days.

You see, I am both diabetic and Reubenesque.  I have let that define me over the past three plus years.  And you know what?  I've gained weight and I let the diabetes have a mind of its own.  I've felt betrayed by my body.  I've felt grief because I've gone through a toe amputation.  I've felt deep depression.  I've blamed myself over and over again.

So realizing that my body does not define me made me feel lighter in an instant.  When something inside me realized that "who I really am" is a beautiful spirit it made such a profound change in my thinking.  I truly believe I reached the Vortex during the meditation and communicated with my source, which is God to me.

I know that seems so simple and it is.  I needed to break the negativity I felt toward myself.

I hope that I've explained it well enough.  It's very refreshing to hear myself saying several times a day ...

My beautiful spirit deserves to live in a healthy body.

Daily Law Of Attraction Quote ...

"Remember, whatever you focus upon, increases...When you focus on the things you need, you'll find those needs increasing. If you concentrate your thoughts on what you don't have, you will soon be concentrating on other things that you had forgotten you don't have-and feel worse! If you set your mind on loss, you are more likely to lose...But a grateful perspective brings happiness and abundance into a person's life."
Andy Andrews, Law of Attraction Quotes

~~~~
My simple version of this quote is to give thanks for what you have and then watch it increase as you attract more of the same.
Upstream Thoughts I Need To Let Go Of
We all have upstream thoughts if we are honest.  Here are a few of mine that I need to turn into upstream thoughts so that I can quit defeating myself.  By listing them here, I'm blessing them and letting them go.
  • I can't lose weight no matter how hard I try.
  • Diabetes has a mind of its own.
  • I need to be thin to be pretty.
  • I'm not a confident person.
  • People are tired of all my posts on Facebook.
  • If this doesn't sell, I'll keep it.
  • I can't afford this.
  • I hate winter.
  • I blame myself for losing a toe.
  • Why don't some people like me?
  • I'm fat.
That's the tip of my list.  I'll bet that you have one too.
Those are all upstream thoughts that I need to change into downstream thoughts and BELIEVE them.  I know that's the hardest part in changing my thinking about myself.  I'll do it though.    I want to make room for the blessings streaming towards me.  If I don't, I'll keep attracting all of the negative results associated with those upstream thoughts.
Nothing I want is upstream.
I need to let go of the oars and go with the flow downstream.
